Call for Abstracts: 9th AFREhealth Annual Conference – Kampala, Uganda (2026)

The African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth) is pleased to announce a Call for Abstracts for the 9th Annual AFREhealth Conference, scheduled to take place from 24th – 26th August 2026 in Kampala, Uganda.

The conference will be hosted by Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and will convene researchers, educators, health professionals, policymakers, and development partners from across Africa and beyond.

Conference Theme

From Innovation to Impact: Strengthening Health Education, Research, and Service Delivery for a Resilient Africa

This year’s theme emphasizes translating innovative ideas into measurable impact, reinforcing health systems, and building resilience through education, research, and service delivery.


Sub-Themes

Abstracts are invited under the following sub-themes:

  • Digital transformation and artificial intelligence in health education, research, and service delivery
  • Strengthening the health workforce: Education and retention for resilient and equitable health systems
  • Integrated approaches in education, research, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases
  • Building climate-resilient health systems: Strengthening community engagement and sustainable One Health partnerships
