  1. MINT – Master Of Medicine (Internal Medicine)

Duration of Program : 3 years

2. MMOG – Master of Medicine (Obstetrics & Gynaecology)

Duration of Program : 3 years

Eligibility:

A good first degree in medicine or its equivalent and applicants must have completed the two year probation period and must have a good record and working experience preferably from an upcountry hospital.

3. MSUR – Master of Medicine (Surgery)

Duration of Program : 3 years

Eligibility:

A good first degree in medicine or its equivalent and applicants must have completed the two year probation period and must have a good record and working experience preferably from an upcountry hospital.

4. MMAM – Master of Medicine in Anaesthesiology

Duration of Program : 2 years

The overall objective of the graduate training in anaesthesiology of Makerere University is to develop motivated physicians into consultants in Anesthesiology and critical care. We endeavor to prepare specialists with a broad spectrum of knowledge, excellent clinical skills, mature interpersonal communication skills.

5. MFAM – Master Of Medicine in Family Medicine and Community Practice

Duration of Program : 3 years

This program academic instruction of a culturally competent specialist front line doctor competent to manage all common and undifferentiated conditions; manage most emergencies and rare but important conditions; recognize, stabilize and refer appropriately all those cases that need more complex investigations and treatment.

6. MEYE – Master of Medicine In Ophthalmology

Duration of Program : 2 years

This course covers the anatomy of the head and neck bony orbit the lacrimal apparatus, the lids the conjunctiva and Ocular adnexa. The course is designed to enable the student understand the relationship of the soft tissues and bony joints. The course incorporates the physiological function of the lacrimal apparatus, the composition.

7. MPCH – Master Of Medicine in Paediatrics & Child Health

Duration of Program : 2 years

In this course, the students will practice the clinical skills of assessing and managing children with childhood diseases and illnesses, including emergencies.

8. MPSY – Master of Medicine In Psychiatry

Duration of Program : 3 years

The purpose of the Postgraduate training program in Psychiatry is to produce the needed human resource required to provide specialised mental health services to all Ugandans; to provide leadership in the planning, organisation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of mental health services to all communities in Uganda.

9. MRAD – Master Of medicine- Radiology

Duration of Program : 3 years

10. MMOR – Master of Medicine-Orthopaedics Surgery

Duration of Program : 4 years

Orthopaedic surgery is the surgical specialty for the diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, and congenital deformities of the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedics therefore is concerned with disorders of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and nerves. It includes diseases of the upper limb, lower limb, vertebral column.

11. MCEB – Master Of Science In Clinical Epid. & Biostatistics

Duration of Program : 3 years

12. MMEM – Masters of Medicine (Emergency Medicine)

Duration of Program : 3 years

The program stated in August 2018 with 8 postgraduate students. It is both didactic and practical in approach. The program is taught through Makerere University College of Health Sciences and Mulago National Referral Hospital.
