TWAS is inviting applications for Seed Grants for New African Principal Investigators (SG-NAPI), fully funded through the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The deadline for applications is 24 May 2022.
Scientists from selected African countries, who meet the following eligibility criteria may apply:
- aged 40 or below,
- obtained their Ph.D. abroad (outside his/her home country) within the last 5 years and returned to his/her home country within the last 36 months or will return home before the end of 2022,
- must hold a position at an academic and/or research institution (including international research centres) in their home country,
- must be national of an eligible African country (in the Sub-Saharan region).
