The founder and former president and CEO of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative received Makerere University’s prestigious Honorary Doctorate of Science (Honoris Causa) during the 71st Graduation Ceremony in May, 2021 where he attended virtually.
Dr. Seth is honored for his tremendous contribution to the staff capacity building in training and research, and student training at the Makerere University School of Public Health. He was instrumental in starting the Public Health Schools without walls to create a cadre of Public Health workers who are trained from the community. The first three programs in Africa were established in ZIMBABWE, GHANA, and UGANDA.
During this function, the University will hold a gowning ceremony for the awarded Honorary Doctor of Science. He also hopes to meet students from the College of Health Sciences shortly after delivering a public lecture. You are cordially invited to attend this ceremony.
