International Clinical Rotations for 4th Year Medical Students (2023)

Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS), School of Medicine, invited 4th Year medical students to apply for international clinical rotations at selected partner institutions abroad.

The rotations were offered as observational clinical placements in diverse healthcare systems, aimed at broadening students’ clinical exposure and global health experience. Successful applicants were required to return to Makerere University upon completion to continue with their academic programme leading to the award of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).

Application Requirements

Applicants were required to submit:

  • A letter expressing interest in the placement abroad

  • A current Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Academic references (to be delivered on the day of the interview)

  • A minimum CGPA of 3.6

  • Medical University of Graz, Austria – Fully funded (Student contribution: N/A)

  • Magna University, Italy – Fully funded (Student contribution: N/A)

  • Karolinska Institutet, Sweden – Fully funded (Student contribution: N/A)

  • Des Moines University, USA – Partial funding (Student contribution: Air ticket)

  • Northwestern University, USA – Partial funding (Student contribution: Food and other incidentals)

  • Minnesota University, USA – Partial funding (Student contribution: Air ticket)

  • Yale School of Medicine, USA – Partial funding (Student contribution: Vaccinations)

  • University of Washington, USA – Partial funding (Student contribution: Food and other incidentals)
