He is a lecturer and family physician in the Department of Family Medicine. He serves as the faculty in-charge of the Departments’ rural teaching site based at Tororo general hospital in Eastern Uganda. He is responsible for clinical training and mentorship at the rural site for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. His research interest is in non communicable diseases in primary care, especially sickle cell disease and hypertension.

He has done studies on awareness and acceptability of sickle cell screening among youth attending the outpatient department, Soroti regional referral hospital, eastern Uganda. He is also working with a research team studying innovative ways of improving hypertension screening, diagnosis and treatment. He is also the Principal Investigator for the project that is looking at the impact of undergraduate family medicine education among students at Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
