AI, NCDs & Women’s Health: From Global Conversations to Local Action
Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS) is pleased to invite researchers, academics, students, health professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders to the World Health Summit (WHS) 2026 Satellite Event, held as part of the WHS Academic Alliance activities.
The event will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue on how artificial intelligence (AI), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and women’s health can be addressed through innovative, locally relevant solutions.

Programme Highlights
The satellite event will feature engaging sessions exploring key global health priorities and their relevance to the Ugandan context, including:
- Empowering the Health Workforce through AI
- Joining Forces to Control NCDs
- Breaking Barriers to Advance Women’s Care in NCDs
The discussions will bring together diverse perspectives from academia, research, healthcare, policy, and other sectors, with a focus on translating global health conversations into meaningful local action.
Connecting Global Health Priorities with Local Action
The World Health Summit 2026 Satellite Event provides an opportunity to connect the global discussions taking place at the World Health Summit in Berlin with local priorities, experiences, research, and action in Uganda.
Participants will have an opportunity to engage with emerging ideas, share experiences, explore opportunities for collaboration, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of health and healthcare.
