Thereza Piloya-Were, MMED, is a senior lecturer and Paediatric Endocrinologist at the department of Paediatrics & Child Health, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University, Uganda. She is the head of the Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes Unit and the Director of the undergraduate programme at the department. Thereza has a wealth of experience in clinical Diabetes and research. Her research experience broadens to infectious diseases as she studies their association with non-communicable diseases. She has mentored medical students, residents and fellows in clinical research. She is also an East African regional trainer of type 1 Diabetes. She is an executive member of the Uganda Diabetes Association.
