Violet Okaba Kayom
Dr. Violet O. Kayom is a Paediatrician and a Lecturer in the department of Paediatrics and Child Health in Makerere University in Uganda. She holds a Master’s degree in Paediatrics and Child Health from Makerere University. She is a fellow of Global Health Leadership by the Afya Bora Consortium. She leads the undergraduate training program in Paediatrics and Child health and mentors medical students and other health professionals. She has special interest in maternal and newborn health, and child development. Her research focuses on promotion of interventions which reduce neonatal sepsis and improve child brain development, especially among vulnerable populations. She is a member of Uganda Paediatric Association and an active advocate of child health to the public and political leaders.
